The Chair of the AASB has statutory responsibility for the management of the Office of the AASB.

The AASB also works closely with the International Accounting Standards Board in the development of global accounting standards.

The successful candidate will have strong managerial and leadership capabilities. They will chair a twelve-member board and lead technical and support staff in the delivery of key objectives including:

As well as the ability to engage with a broad range of domestic and international stakeholders the successful candidate will have strong strategic planning and communication skills, appropriate technical expertise, an understanding of the role played by accounting standards in business, government, and the not-for-profit sector, and a strong public policy focus.
